100% agree on the 'infinite games' idea, instead of the more waterfall, 'plan-then-go' approach. There is time to sit back and write a roadmap, but recently I've come to think of figuring out "what you want" as more of an iterative process that'll never end, rather than one where you can sit down for 2 weeks, then sprint for 100.
Like you said, find what gives you energy, and try to bring more of that into your life. Focus on what you want to see more of.
On the flip side, I think some people mistakenly try to use pain as a signpost for what they want to see less of. But discomfort is required for growth. How can one tell the difference when it's growth-based pain, I'm-doing-the-wrong-thing pain, or I-am-distracting-myself pain?
Go Ansel! To infinity and beyond!
I came for the psychology and decision-making, but you had me at ultra-light backpacking.
